No big surprises day

Hey. As mentioned in the topic, we had a day with no big surprises, just some minor ones in WTA (Cetkovska out, Safarova out and Bartoli out). Sadly I traded both Safarova and Cetkovska to come back, so my trading suffered some red numbers, but nothing drastical. Trade of the day went woefully wrong as it seemed there was only Cibulkova on the court and King was nowhere to be seen, but picks went ok again. Let us see what the new day will bring to us:

Picks:
11.00 - Tomic - Giraldo (ATP, Roland Garros), Tomic to win@1.95, Giraldo 6-4, 6-1, 6-3. LOST.
11.00 - Kirilenko - Zakopalova (WTA, Roland Garros), Zakopalova+4games@1.76, Zakopalova 6-4, 3-6, 6-3. WIN.
13.00 - Haase - Youzhny (ATP, Roland Garros), Youzhny to win@1.63, Youzhny 6-3, 7-6, 6-4. WIN.
13.30 - Schiavone - Pironkova (WTA, Roland Garros), Pironkova+5.5games@2.01, Schiavone 2-6, 6-3, 6-1. WIN.
16.30 - Granollers-Pujol - Jaziri (ATP, Roland Garros), Jaziri to win@3.80
17.00 - Goerges - Watson-Heather (WTA, Roland Garros), Goerges-1.5sets@1.86, Goerges 6-3, 6-4. WIN.
17.30 - Rus - Razzano (WTA, Roland Garros), Rus to win@2.02, Rus 6-3, 7-6. WIN.

That's it for today.

Trade of the day:
Well, I have been thinking about some games, first choice was obvious: Kirilenko vs Zakopalova, then in match with Bratchikova vs Feurstein can happen almost everything and Feurstein being a big favourite could be very profitable lay. I'm always on lookout on injured players: Granollers-Pujol, Benneteau and Razzano, but I don't want to be speculative so, I'll choose (another) WTA match for trade of the day.

11.00 - Kirilenko vs Zakopalova (WTA, Roland Garros)
Preview: They have played with each other 4 times, with 3 wins for Kirilenko (2x clay, 1xhard) and with the latest win for Zakopalova in year 2008. Momentum is currently definitely with Zakopalova who reached a quite strong CH clay finals in Prague, losing to Safarova. Kirilenko has lost 3 in a row before her win in 1st round vs very, very poor Victoria Larriere. Important thing is that Kirilenko retired in Strasbourg (previous week) vs Stephens (reason for me is unknown), but it could be just a tactical retirement to be fresh for RG. I hope Kirilenko won't get her winning spirit with win over Larriere back, else I think it will be very tough contest with a better start for Zakopalova.

Trade: I'll start with quite early lay on Kirilenko, as I believe best chances for Zakopalova are at start and if Kirilenko will start better I'll quickly withdraw from trade as Zakopalova can mentally fail if things are not working as she planned. I see first set win by Zakopalova and after that I'll be cautions, staying in with-half stake and going out if I'll see Kirilenko will fight to come back. Zakopalova to win 2-0 or 2-1.

Serena Williams out in a shocker

Hello there. Second (first was in my opinion Nalbandian) big upset yesterday as Razzano kicked out Serena Williams in a shocking match, where Serena saved 8th match points but in the end Razzano ended as a (deserved) winner of a marathon match. I see that reading of my blog has vastly extended when Roland Garros started and I feel honored about that. I don't need any comments, just the fact that at least someone is using my picks or trades as help, gives me the energy to continue on. It's a hard work everday, sometimes I'm totally wrong, but sometimes I'm right. Yesterday was another major win in picks, but my personal trading wasn't that flawless. Today I'll be trading just matches at 11.00, 13.00 and maybe some 1st sets from matches at 15.00. Picks will be made from all the matches. A lots of people were complaing about the shitty scoreboards at Roland Garros, so I suggest you to use this one: http://www.tennisform.com/default.asp?action=LIVESCORES&tournament=none . It was working good for most of the day yesterday.

Picks:
11.00 - King - Cibulkova (WTA, Roland Garros), King+1.5sets@1.94, Cibulkova 6-0, 6-2. LOST.
13.00 - Cilic - Ferrero (ATP, Roland Garros), Cilic to win@1.72, Cilic 7-6, 6-4, 6-3. WIN.
15.00 - Llodra - Berdych (ATP, Roland Garros), Llodra+2.5sets@2.10, Berdych 6-2, 6-3, 6-3. LOST.
15.00 - Simon - Baker (ATP, Roland Garros), Baker+2.5sets@1.53 (Double stake), Simon 6-4, 6-1, 6-7, 1-6, 6-0. WIN.
15.00 - Mattek-Sands - Stephens (WTA, Roland Garros), Stephens to win@1.75, Stephens 6-1, 6-1. WIN.

Very, very slim chance I'll add something more for 17.00 matches...

Trade of the day:
11.00 - King - CIbulkova (WTA, Roland Garros)
Preview: It's Vania King who is leading H2H matches 3:0 vs Cibulkova, but Cibulkova stands here as a big favourite at 1.40, which must be a lay (at least half-stake) from the start. King recent wins were against Larsson, Pous-Tio, Pironkova and Voskoboeva (1st round of RG) and ended as a loser vs decent opponents (Ivanovic, Petrova, Wickmayer, Kanepi and Kerber) to which Cibulkova would probably lose too (except is Wickmayer). Cibulkova was also knocked out in clay tournaments vs decent players (LI in Rome, Halep in Brussels, Vinci in Madrid and as a surprise Amanmuradova in Stuttgart) and with some wins over average players. We all know Cibulkova is a real fighter and she definitely has the desire to win this, but so does King, who is really steady (always never does any DF's) on her serve which may prove a important factor. All I can say is that I don't see Cibulkova getting through King easy as the odds suggest. I see 3 sets here with probably the better chances for Cibulkova to win it in the end.

Trade: I'll start the match with a half stake lay on Cibulkova and will add another half if she goes ahead as I see in some time of the match that King will get back or even get ahead. My exit point will be probably King with break ahead as the odds will shift into King as favourite very quickly because of the recent history of their encounters. If King won't give any sings of life in 1st set I'll do another lay in 2nd set when I'll see that she wants to get back.

Another busy morning

Hello. Trade of the day (F.Lopez vs Serra) didn't work out because of Lopez injury and he retired before the 1st set ended (thanks god). Picks were ok, with 1 winner more then loser which is primary goal. A lots of interesting matches are on today. But first up for picks:

11.00 - Tipsarevic - Querrey (ATP, Roland Garros), Querrey+2.5sets@1.75, Tipsarevic 2-6, 6-4, 7-6, 6-3. WIN.
11.00 - Hradecka - Goerges (WTA, Roland Garros), Hradecka+4.5games@1.74, Goerges 7-6, 6-4. WIN.
11.00 - Hercog - Morita (WTA, Roland Garros), Morita to win@2.20, Morita 3-6, 6-4, 6-3. WIN.
11.00 - Vesnina - Heather-Watson (WTA, Roland Garros), Heather-Watson+1.5sets@1.73, Heather-Watson 6-2, 7-5. WIN.
13.00 - Dimitrov - Young (ATP, Roland Garros), Young+2.5sets@1.62, Dimitrov 7-6, 6-1, 6-2. LOST.
13.00 - Gasquet - Zopp (ATP, Roland Garros), Zopp+2.5sets@2.90, Gasquet 6-3, 6-4, 7-6. LOST.
18.30 - Baghdatis - Chela (ATP, Roland Garros), Baghdatis to win@1.80, Baghdatis 6-3, 6-3, 6-1. WIN.

I'll add some more picks for matches at 15.00 and 17.00 later...

TRADE OF THE DAY:
11.00 - Hradecka - Goerges (WTA, Roland Garros)

Preview: This will definitely be a tight and interesting contest. Goerges is higher ranked player who leads H2H 2-1, but last match went to Hradecka, but it was in year 2009. They are both doing pretty well this year on clay season with better results from Hradecka (semi finals in Madrid). They both play power tennis, relying on serve and big shots. Odds are around 1.50 in favour for Goerges which is definitely too low in my opinion. It might go always down, but I guess Hradecka will give her a real fight. I think it will go into 3 sets where I don't know who will prevail.

Trade: I'll start with a small lay on Goerges from the start and I'll add some more if Goerges will start better (break or set up). Probably the game will be on Eurosport so I'll decide easier. If Hradecka will win first set I'll lay her, because Goerges is a good comebacker. Pretty simple, i hope it will work out.

28. 5. 12

Still on 1st round

A bit better day with picks yesterday and trade of the day worked out as planned. I'm having a scary busy day today, so I will miss most of the matches (trading).

11.00 - Kavcic - Hewitt (ATP, Roland Garros), Hewitt to win@2.18, Kavcic 7-6, 6-3, 6-7, 6-3. LOST.
11.00 - F.Lopez - Serra (ATP, Roland Garros), F.Lopez to win@1.57 (Double stake), F.Lopez retired. VOID.
11.00 - Y.Chan - Bondarenko (WTA, Roland Garros), Bondarenko to win@2.06, Y.Chan 6-1, 7-5. LOST.
13.00 - Cornet - Zheng (WTA, Roland Garros), Zheng+4.5games@1.95, Zheng 6-4, 6-4. WIN.
13.00 - Lisicki - Mattek-Sands (WTA, Roland Garros), Mattek Sands+1.5sets@1.90, Mattek-Sands 6-3, 6-4. WIN.
13.00 - Stephens - Makarova (WTA, Roland Garros), Stephens+1.5sets@1.95, Stephens 6-4, 7-6. WIN.
13.00 - Oprandi - Govortsova (WTA, Roland Garros), Govortsova to win@1.53 (Double stake), Govorstova 6-4, 6-1. WIN.
13.00 - Lepchenko - Pervak (WTA, Roland Garros), Pervak to win@2.70, Lepchenko 6-4, 7-6, 6-4. LOST.
15.00 - Clement - Bogomolov (ATP, Roland Garros), Clement to win@2.18, Clement 6-2, 3-6, 4-6, 7-6, 5-4. WIN.
15.00 - Halep - Cetkovska (WTA, Roland Garros), Halep to win@1.86, Cetkovska 6-1, 6-3. LOST.

I could add some later games, If I'll arrive home at time...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TRADE OF THE DAY:

Again, it's a tough decision (bare in mind I'm trading today only early games) which match to take as a trade of the day. I'm choosing beetween: Kavcic vs Hewitt, Chan vs Bondarenko and Serra vs F.Lopez. While Kavcic and Hewitt are both out of form and a bit crippled (Kavic - elbow, Hewitt - foot), so it can happen almost anything, even thou I believe it will be close encounter with better start from Blaz (Kavcic) and then we will see Hewitt getting back into the game and winning probably in 4 or 5 sets. Chan vs Bondarenko is a match where I see Bondarenko as a winner, but market is hugely favouring Chan because of her last year performances, definitely I would have money on Bondarenko, but her current form is a bit worrying, but still, the match will not end as a straight set winner for Chan. So, the last decision I guess the most clear one is Serra vs F.Lopez which I'll take as a trade of the day.

11.00 - F. Lopez - Serra (ATP, Roland Garros)
Preview: Lopez (ranked 17) starts as a favourite at 1.66-1.68 vs Serra (ranked 155). I personally believe odds here are a dream come true, even thou Lopez had always trouble in RG and Serra has done exceptionally good, but on other hand, Lopez recent clay season is fairly decent, he is winning vs players ranked around 50 and also losing some against top 30 players (Granollers, Melzer, Kohlschreiber, Ferrer), but giving them a real fight. Serra has not beaten a player inside top 50 (best scalp of this year for him is beating exhausted Paire in Bordeaux) and most of his wins are vs players ranked well above 100. Lopez serve is better then Serras and definitely skill is on Spaniards side. It must be just mental issues that Lopez must deal with and he will clearly and easily win this game, but it might take a while he get accustumed to that. Good start will definitely boost F.Lopez play and bad start can make him think about year 2010 or 2011 when he was kicked out in 1st round.

Trade: I'll start with a half-stake back on F.Lopez from the start and will add some more if Serra can get first set, because I really don't see Serra winning two sets in a row. If Lopez will take first set I'll just leave my green on Lopez and let it roll. If Serra will eventually take first two sets then I'll be sweating like a swine before the slaughter and I'll lay Serra again and hope for a comeback.

RG 1st round

Hoho, what a bad day was that... 4 picks all 4 lost. As promised, I'll be starting also with the trade of the day section today. First the picks after them it's trade of the day.

Picks:

11.00 - Martinez - Birnerova (WTA, Roland Garros), Martinez to win@1.51 (Double stake), Martinez 4-6, 6-4, 8-6. WIN.
11.00 - Hanescu - Andujar (ATP, Roland Garros), Hanescu+1.5sets@2.13, Andujar 6-1, 2-6, 1-6, 6-3, 6-1. WIN.
15.00 - Krajinovic - Devilder (ATP, Roland Garros), Krajinovic to win@1.80, Devilder 6-2, 6-2, 6-0. LOST.
15.00 - Sijsling - Muller (ATP, Roland Garros), Muller to win@1.97, Muller 2-6, 7-5, 3-6, 6-4, 7-6. WIN.
15.00 - Mahut - Roddick (ATP, Roland Garros), Mahut to win@2.29, Mahut 6-3, 6-3, 4-6, 6-2. WIN.
17.00 - Johansson - Rodionova (WTA, Roland Garros), Rodionova to win@2.00, Johansson 4-6, 7-6, 7-5. LOST.
17.00 - Chang - Pavlovic (WTA, Roland Garros), Chang to win@2.36, Pavlovic 6-4, 7-5. LOST.
17.00 - Garcia - Pfizenmaier (WTA, Roland Garros), Garcia to win@1.92, Pfizenmaier 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. LOST.
17.00 - Tatishivli - Glatch (WTA, Roland Garros), Glatch+3.5games@1.86, Glatch 6-3, 5-7, 6-4. WIN.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TRADE OF THE DAY:
Sadly I won't be at home before 15.00 (GMT+2), else trade of the day would surely be laying Andujar vs Hanescu, as I don't see Andujar winning this game in 3 straight sets and Andujars odds are really, really too low. But, fuck it, still a lot of value matches later on. The ones that in top 3 for trade of the day are: Roddick vs Mahut, Chang vs Pavlovic and Tatishvili vs Glatch. Because there are just too many unknown factors in Chang vs Pavlovic I won't choose that one and Glatch could also have a bad game, so we are left just with Roddick vs Mahut.

17.00 - Mahut - Roddick (ATP, Roland Garros).
Preview: Roddick starts here as 1.73/1.74 favourite and that is probably correct as Roddick beat Mahut four times in a row (all 4 matches on fast courts and last one 4 years ago) and he is ranked about 50 places higher. But on other hand, Roddick was pretty awful on clay this year. Well, he actually played just 3 matches in Dusseldorf tournament and lost all 3 (Berdych, Berlocq, Soeda) without winning a set. So his win in Miami vs Federer (hard court) was probably just a exception. But, we all know that players like Roddick can lift their game in important matches and he will be definitely motivated here. Mahut was also resting for about month and a half (wrist injury), so he left out mostly all clay tournaments. He did get back previous week in Bordeaux and played decent tennis and was kicked out vs Gabashvili in QF. Serve in last few games was definitely a bigger weapon for Mahut then for Roddick and that will count a lot, since I see Mahut rushing to the net frequently. Mahut is also known that he can raise his level of play on home soil and here he will definitely have a huge support from the crowd. I think Mahut will start stronger here and will win first set then we will see if Roddick can find some sort of form (or serve) and if he does, he has all the chances to win the game. I see a tight match if Roddick will be up for it, maybe 5 or at least 4 sets, with Mahut probably the stronger one (if he won't get too pissed at anything).

Trade: I'll start with laying Roddick and will close the trade if Roddick will look too confortable on his serve. If Mahut will broke him first, I'll stay in and wait until Mahut takes first set. After that I'll take the half of the profit out and leave the other half still on Mahut and hedge the profit when Mahut will have BP in 2nd set. After that I'll try laying Mahut (on very low odds), because Roddick can definitely get back and win the game if he is 2 sets down. If in any case, Roddick will win first set, then I'll be laying him on lower odds, since I really don't see a total collapse from Mahut.

24. 5. 12

Rome doesn't make any sense

Well, this is really embarrassing like Firefox like to says when it crashes... I'm  hearing that most of the other punters/traders are having a bad few days, so I guess it's just strange results, that's all... It will be better, if not today then the day after. Here are picks:

Rome #2

Yesterday went so, so with 3 winners and 3 loosers. A small loss was made, but nothing drastically. I'll be more selective today, so less picks and I hope those will be correct:
